CALL TO ARTISTS and other RESOURCES
This is a CALL TO ARTISTS!
CREATIVE CITY is organizing a big art party to feature Tucson artists at the Rialto on Friday Aug. 21st, which begins with a pre-show event at Winsett Park on 4th Avenue and a procession between the two venues. Creative City’s mission is to celebrate and advocate creativity- with a focus on sustainability and renewability- and to put Tucson on the map as a creative and vibrant city. We have a coalition of amazing talent working on this party, including the Parasol Project. There will be bands, garage art sale, interactive theatre, mimes, and more- driven by the participants of the event. “Be or bring art,” is the motto of the event. Wear costumes and join in on the fun!
This event is also a great way for artists to advertise their services and upcoming events. There will be tables for artist info and wares to sell. The attendees will be a diverse crowd.
Are you a visual artist who wants to decorate the space and/or sell 2-D, 3-D, or 4-D art? Have an idea for an interactive art station? Do you want to help organize the arrangement of the space?
Are you an actor, dancer, stilt-walker/dancer, puppeteer, poi (without fire) spinner, or other type of entertainer who’d be interested in strutting your stuff and collaborating with a community of creatives? Being a fabulous presence or performing a 5 minute act are more than welcome.
If you are interested, then:

WE ARE THE TROLLS! WHO ARE YOU?
We have been evicted from our domicile, the archaic 4th ave bridge. We didn’t mind the train, it soothed us to sleep! But now we are awake, and out in the streets of sun! They would like us to just walk away and disappear into the desert, without a meep. Well, however you wish to make your presence known, by protest, crying, stoic realization, sentiment and even thee odd-one-out optimism, arrive at the 4th Ave underpass day of new bridge celebration, August 20th, at a yet determined time in full garb of green skinned faces and hands, ruffled used cave-dwellers clothes, and any props useful to your vision of who your troll will be and do.
Let’s talk! My name is Devin and would like to see you there making a scene from fantasy… Make-up and some clothes available on site I bet too!
