09-10 City of Tucson Budget Hearing Tonight!!

April 28th, 2009 michael 1 comment

Come out to support the arts in Tucson. Wear red and meet at the west main entrance of TCC at 5:00 pm. Hearing starts at 5:30 and will include 3-minute calls to the audience. If you are planning on speaking on behalf of the arts, please include these talking points:

1. I support the city’s continued commitment to fund arts and culture and do not want the city’s support to cease.

2. I encourage you to support the bed surcharge proposal in the draft budget. The draft budget recommends increasing the bed surcharge as the mechanism that will support arts and culture. The increased surcharge does not impose any additional taxes on City of Tucson and Pima County
Residents.

3. I support TPAC’s role as the city’s designated Arts and
Culture Development Agency.

4. I support the Creative City vision for Tucson being a place where Creativity Community & Renewability can thrive.
